I ran the new haven 20k today, time was 1:43:29 barefoot of course. This was my third consecutive year running this race, second time barefoot. This race has a special meaning to my barefoot running because the first year i ran it, it was the last time i ever ran in shoes. The following day after the race I took my first barefoot run, wich was a mile, and the journey began.
As usual I didn't see one barefoot runner out of 3500 runners. Barefoot running is scarce in Connecticut, people still seem in shock and actually disgusted at times, it's very strange. I saw some minimal runners in merrells, vffs, and alot of othe strange minimal getups ( i don't pay attention anymore to minimal footwear). The minimal runners looked really miserable out there, it's either for the fad of it, or lack of knowledge.
