Kentox ~ I carry my VFFs on
Kentox ~ I carry my VFFs on some runs ~ I strap them to my "Fuel Belt" and they don't get in the way at all. Oh and how do you like the Run Amocs I was thinking of them.
stjohnthegambler ~ yea I'm not down with gravel totally agree!
Jonny ~ yikes a crazy story
Jonny ~ yikes a crazy story on the first experience but sounds like something I would do :-)
TJ ~ Excellent reminder because I've been thinking about getting some huaraches ~ it really feels like that may be the answer because the feel is supposed to be very close...
This is all really really
This is all really really helpful! I appreciate it. I am thinking this first race has lots of unkown terrain so I'll wear the VFFs ~ it seems there are some fireroads with gravel for half the time ~ not accessible for checking it out beforehand.
However, I'm pretty...
Hi guys thanks!~ it's a 5K
Hi guys thanks!
~ it's a 5K and I am doing over 3 miles barefoot training pretty easily now. I actually have 2 ~ 5Ks coming up. One has trails and rough asphalt and the other is just road asphalt. I am fine on asphalt since I run like 50% of the time on asphalt...
Hi Everyone ~ In a few weeks I am doing my first race!! I LOVE going completely barefoot and feel restricted even in VFFs but the terrain is a bit iffy.
I would love to hear advice from you! My thought was to possibly run the loop and decide from there?
When a race is just on asphalt roads do...

Thanks for the heads-up on your race report! You are like the only barefoot minimalist runner triathlete I can find that is posting race reports LOL :-) I am still training for my first one but I'll be doing my first 5K in the VFFs next month can't wait!!
Did you...
I am training for my first
I am training for my first Tri and I'm planning on doing this first one with the VFFs on bike and run. There is actually a triathlete coach that has started doing his Tris with the VFFs on bike and run. I'm still considering clips though.
LOL ok I totally did not see
LOL ok I totally did not see your post before I posted on fb LOL. I was asking them the same thing. I am going to enter in the barefoot division oh .....I mean the minimalist SHOE division. But I will be wearing VFFs not merrills. Wait ~ what is the difference...
I would love to get some advice on speed. I'm still beginning (in my 2nd month of barefoot running) am up to comfortably doing 1.5 miles without any issues and feeling totally awesome!!
I've been mostly working off of Ken Bob's book and have focused lots on form and having fun :-)

Dirtbag How did your Honolulu
Dirtbag How did your Honolulu Olympic Tri go? Do you have any words of wisdom for us after the experience barefoot (VFFs) an all!
I've been wondering about the
I've been wondering about the same thing. I think it's because of being used to a certain rythm. Keep us posted though because I would love to hear how it's going prepping for your tri now that you are barefoot running.
I too am just beginning on week 4 of barefoot transition and I totally agree!! slowing the pace down makes the huge difference. I pretty much decided that going slow and incremental is what will work to my barefoot transition and it's working beautifully.
I figure speed and pace will come after...
I've only been able to do
I've only been able to do short runs in the rain so far but I love it!! I can imagine longer distances will be a bit different.
LOL those freaken toe sockets
LOL those freaken toe sockets are deffinitely challenging. For my first tri I will not have clips on my bike so I'll be transitioning from swim to VFFs directly ~ I'm thinking yikes on the wet feet thing. I'm borrowing someone else's bike for the next few months...
Thank you for all your
Thank you for all your suggestions and help!
I went out and got the VFF Bikila's so far so good ~ I'm not running in them much because I am doing my actually running bf.
I am going to practice putting them on so that in my first race I'm not toally struggling :-)...
