Probiotics

I made my own water kefir last year for about 9 months at it worked great! I only stopped because I eventually got too lazy to make it (depending on the weather, every 2-3 days). Whenever I could feel digestion issues coming on, I'd drink a half a liter and be good to go. Maybe it was just the placebo effect, but whatever works, right?

I got started on the whole thing through a friend who was living in Rwanda at the time and looking for natural ways for her family to stay healthy in spite of the many water and food bugs they were constantly coming in contact with. I have yet to read it, but she recommended the book "Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition and Craft of Live-Culture Foods" by Sandor Katz. It's on my list of to-dos for 2013.

Pills work out to about $1 per day, and you are actually getting a concentrated form of floro probiotics. Check their site out on the web to read more, but be sure that they are shipped to your source refrigerated and that you keep them refrigerated. Some people even keep them in the freezer, which I understand doesn't damage them. You may want to check on that too, but I think keeping them in the fridge is good enough.

I am going to try to get the nutrition store this week for some of that. All we have in my town is GNC. I work in Austin, so I can go somewhere at lunch when I get a break. I definitely have been having less and more productive BMs. Going like 5 times a day at work is not fun.
