    Hallux Limitus/Rigidus - minimalistic shoes

Your toe will be the big limiter, not the shoes. For my patients i would recommend working on mobility everyday. 1-3 x day by hand. If your toe is limited something else will be as well. Get help to make sure your spine is moving well with good alignment and posture. Anti-inflammatory diet (no...

    Throbbing Heel Pain

Sport physio or DC. One who runs preferably. I would be wary if they recommend stretching or orthotics. If you can call and ask if they do DNS, FMS, SFMA, or follow McGill or Liebenson. Those are great systems that look at the root of the problem and not just the site of pain.

    Throbbing Heel Pain

Buckland, That's a bit vague for me. There are muscles attached there. They're likely stretched and weak. Strength, not stretching is what most of the body needs. Without having my hands on you to see what muscle it is i can't give any specific recommendations.

    HEM Ankle Rehabilitation

I'm not familiar with it. 6 months and still swelling, your best bet would be to see a professional. PT, DC Osteopath (if they still use their hands). That isn't normal. Tissues heal within two months unless you keep aggravating it and not allow it to heal. Call around and see who's the best...

    Insertional Achillies Tendon Issues

Hmm. This is interesting. Only pain with certain shoes. the simple answer is it's those shoes. If it isn't those shoes then what is it? that may require a physical exam to determine what is the cause. In the meantime you can try a few things. Pull back on your heel bone, calcaneus. See if it's...

    Becoming Bulletproof

I place a lot of my patients on the floor. It's primal and a lot of work. They're shocked when i find their weaknesses fast. I had a younger patient today who was laughing because he couldn't breath and brace like i wanted him to. The ground will teach you a lot more than a dumb bell will.

slight swelling - 2/3/4 metatarsal left foot

All roads lead to Rome. Which one do you want is the question and the answer will be the method that you will apply. Just like any exercise. Do what you like or you won't do it.

slight swelling - 2/3/4 metatarsal left foot

Also ask your physio if he's familiar with Gray Cook, Stuart McGill, DNS. Any of those and others will help correct the problem.

slight swelling - 2/3/4 metatarsal left foot

You want to do side planks for both sides with starting with the weaker side. Great English. Let the weaker side be the guide to time and effort. As far as the carries you need an eye on you to see which side will straighten you. Don't guess, this is one you need help with.

slight swelling - 2/3/4 metatarsal left foot

Ala, Very interesting case and great information. I appreciate it. Now, to figure out what's going on is a tough one. You could be loading the foot more. If you still have the rib, hip pain then there is likely still a scoliosis, just not as noticeable. With my scoliotic patients i have them...

Decided to wean myself off honey

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/agave-nectar-is-even-worse-than-sugar#blood-sugar A simple way to understand. Don't believe everything your being sold. Nature creates things the body can handle. Man creates things to addict you and sell you. If nature doesn't want you to eat it, you get...

    Insertional Achilles Tendinitis (Part 2)

IS KCMO = Kansas City, Missouri? If so there are many docs there and I'm sure some are rehab focused chiros. A rehab or sports chiro will look at your whole body, not the site of complaint. That needs to be ruled out but if no injury it should be a quick look. It could be a number of problems...

    Unexplained heel pain

Did you try any of my suggestions? There's also nerve flossing to try if it is trapped. Steroid shots are feel good now pay for it later. They destroy tissue. You'll maybe reduce the pain now but could end up paying for it later. Best to exhaust manual therapy before you go that route.

    Unexplained heel pain

I take it your explaining the calcaneus and it's posterior, medial, and inferior? Now I know why medical terms are so precise! If so sounds like the gastroc attachment. Very end of the achilles fibers. I would try a few things. Pin and hold, pin and stretch, instrument assisted myosfascial...

Ankle cracking when walking - Do I need surgery ?

Ala, With my scoliosis, with most of my patients, I focus on strengthening the weak side. No stretching. The tight side will relax once the weak side starts doing its job.
