Cool, a local! Reminds me of DNEChris's daily commute. I'm nowhere near that part of town, so I've never seen him. The trails that I frequent are even further away.

Neat, looks like he has a DailyMile page with some comments. I wonder if he ever comes on here?

Because people are used to seeing the veterans now, so the shock factor is gone thus the interest is not as much. Not saying I am a veteran or anything and if you called me one I would deny it, because I complete I agree with Chris, I am still learning too.
I can tell you I get more waves and hello's then looks of confusion now, because everybody is used to me running here. Guess I will have to find a new city to confuse people in.

In the NFL, rookie contracts are usually 3-4 years, after which you're considered a veteran, or are cut (OFF = out-of-football).

But I think I prefer Chris's zen-inspired "beginner's mind" approach.

Sup guys and girls, Bob told me about this forum and here I am! My wife submitted my story to the Orlando Sentinel when I finished my first 100 mile week. I'm recovering from bronchitis now but am still running a half marathon per day during the week and a long run on the weekend.

Mike, you and I should start a Central FL chapter! You're the more experienced runner (not to mention famous!), so I nominate you as president.

I'm sure now that you and I have added ourselves to the map, that dozens of Central Floridians will now come out of the woodwork. Well, honestly I've never seen anyone else run barefoot, but I don't get around much, either.
