After my last run, I was not trusting that my leg would not cramp up, but decided to go up a steep trail, to mimic the 15k I am planning to run in a few weeks. I am thankful I am actually logging more miles than I have in the past 4 months. My last long run I had a bad experience and bonked. I had a miserable time getting back to the car, and vowed to never go that route again. I have had much better experience the last few runs, and I have drank some vitamin water before and after, and have experienced less soreness. Not sure if it just me getting used to the transition. Anyway I feel a hundred percent better this week, not sure if that is the cause, but I am happy. My feet are holding up, and my legs are feeling stronger, and I actually like running hills/trails versus running on the road. I just feel trails are way softer on my body right now. Anyway, here is a quick traing log for tonights run. Nice run up in the Monument peak area near Mill City, Oregon. Did not see anyone, and I really dig the singletrack with fine gravel. Fun surface to run on with my VFF's. Going through the mud was a little wierd, felt like stepping on a cow patty.
500 foot differential, I kind of was gassed at the start. HR was a little high, but I guess I was just excited to be out on the trail. Things settled down with some fast walking up the steepest incline.
