Gravel is good for teaching us how to run gently (per Barefoot Ken Bob, and he's right). You can get used to it over time. I could handle that stuff, but the hard gravel is difficult.
See I'm the opposite. Bigger gravel (even when sharp) doesn't bother me as much as the tiny stuff that sticks in the callouses... I don't wear shoes because of my tactile hypersensitivity. I tread on broken glass better than tiny gravel.

I understand from Tyler Leech of the Barefoot Autism Challenge that people with autism have sensory issues. Do you find that's the case for you as well?
