Yiriba Orphanage’s Jog-A-Thon
A simple way to make a HUGE impact!

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS RUN!!!!

Last year, the Barefoot Runners Society, along with many other groups and runners, helped the Yiriba Orphanage with their Jog-A-Thon fundraiser to purchase school supplies. The event was a total success. They were able to raise over $3,500! People ran in 6 continents, 19 countries, 130 cities, 10 national parks, 10 beaches, 5 lakes, 2 islands, and on the Alps of France!

This year, Yiriba is asking for our help again. They are organizing another Jog-A-Thon to open a new orphanage in Nicaragua, Central America. This is your chance to help others in need. This is our chance to help! Many people around the world are being invited. So far, they have over 160 people committed to jog-run and a few hundred more from running groups and sports leagues. We can have a chance to make big impact here and help them reach their goal.

Jog-A-Thon with us worldwide on July 14th and 15th to 'Run with a Purpose' and their sponsors will donate $0.25 cents for every mile we run. Your running miles will help Yiriba Foundation to raise funds to open a new orphanage that will create a home for 10 orphans in Nicaragua (the 2nd poorest country in Central America)..... Join us to reach our goal of running 10,000 miles collectively.

How this Jog-A-Thon works?

- Run anytime on July 14th - 15th
- Run anywhere in the world: parks, beaches, trails, streets, gyms, races, sports matches (soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, tennis…), and anywhere you can think of to run.
- Run or jog as little or as far as you can…. Every mile counts!!
- You must log your running miles on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/246750738757756/
- Post and share pictures of you and your friends running along with your logged miles
- Make it fun: It’s a great opportunity to go to a beach or on a trail run with your friends, organize a sports game, be creative…

Thank you! I shared it at the main Facebook page earlier. If all the chapters could do the same, that would be great!

Seems like it was quite a success! I logged 14m on Saturday and 10k on Sunday (think I only mentioned 5 of the 10k, but it turned out to be an out-and-back affair: ran out to the school/church picnic and back again, but had been expecting to ride back with Mama in the car)
