My bad! I read your initial post late at night after a full day of work, then coming home from night class, I was toast. Sorry if I came off rude:)

    That was...civil. Come on,

That was...civil. Come on, this is a forum on the interwebs! You're supposed to get all huffy and post in ALL CAPS with bad spelin to show how OMG mad you are at that person now. Jeeze, don't you guys know anything about proper internet etiquette?

That said, good form is relative for everyone but has got to have similar traits even across body types and skill levels. Hence, using the books and videos for clues.

(I hate it when I want to post something, then I write it and I feel like I should have just written "+1 to everything everyone else said.")

    Actually AdamG, I think I

Actually AdamG, I think I came off pretty rude. I do think there is something in the vacuum tubes that make up these interwebs that, for me at least, cause me to be less polite, or at least look less polite, than I wish.

    In my experience, most people

In my experience, most people fall into one of three categories:

#1: Those that take off their shoes and immediately have near-perfect form. There's no need for them to learn anything.

#2: Those that take off their shoes and have bad form, but learn by listening to their own bodies. Again, no real need for them to learn from outside sources.

#3: Those that just can't seem to figure it out on their won. These are the people that cold benefit from the myriad of resources available on the interwebs or otherwise.

Based on my own observations, each makes up about a third of the total people that try barefoot running. Group three tends to be over-represented on forums, thus appears to be a larger number.

    Then there's the fourth

Then there's the fourth category: Those who are just pitiful runners who look like that have bad form right out of the shoebox, but who don't seem to get injured while running barefoot...like me. ;-)

So, LPJ, you think there are

So, LPJ, you think there are more people who write to ask for help than to crow about being perfect and to verbally scratch their heads and wonder why all these other gits can't get their acts together and STILL need their hands held?
