    Post your book recommendations here.
I'll kick off with Mark Wallington's travel books.

    500 mile walkies
    Boogie up the river
    Pennine walkies.

If you enjoy travel books with humour and pooches this trio is a great read.
Mark started out on his journeys to impress a girl, thought he needed company so borrowed his mates mutt Boogie, a true runt of the litter in every sense.
From the cornish costal path to the pennines and travels up the thames.

I'm gonna give that Pennine one a go, planning on doing the trail this summer. Might be a fun pre read.

Is that a hike or a planned ultra Abide? Either way sounds like fun.

A Walk in the Woods is a good read too, probably in a similar way to Wallington's books.

Well I was looking at the Spine, but got cold feet after watching the movie and pulled out. So I started thinking about doing a self supported summer pennine traverse and then it's slowly morphed into the Pennine way 7-8 day pub crawltra since I wont have a lot of room for food and will need to scavenge. The idea's there but I need to iron out the details. Flight's booked to Manchester so its a go!

I saw the movie a few weeks back, haven't read too much Bryson but the Appalachian trail would look pretty epic on the bucket list.

Sounds like a plan Abide, good luck with the fine tuning and take lots of photos. One of every pub you stop at ;).

Patti Smith 'Just Kids' is on my bookshelf at the moment and I'm really enjoying it.
I did read Brett Easton Ellis' 'Glamorama' before that which was a bit more challenging.
