I also recently saw and tried the 2015 Beer Camp Hoppy Lager. Was pleasantly surprised! Definitely very hoppy! I also tried another that I thought would be a bit weak that turned out very nice, Southern Tier's 'Where The HELLES Summer?' lol. Very fitting for a spring ale! A nice light 4.6% that’s great for lunch or an afternoon beer but still plenty of flavor. Then on the opposite end of the spectrum, last night I tried Southern Tier's Warlock, an imperial stout brewed with pumpkins. It was alright for a once in a great while stout. Stouts just generally aren't my thing though I do love pumpkin ales.

Can't wait for GL's Chillwave. Also their Rye of the Tiger IPA I think comes out late winter/spring.

I had the strangest beer ever today. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...=kFiG4l9eDNwg18AUbzmqQQ&bvm=bv.87611401,d.eXY
They said it even had real levels of caffeine in addition to the relatively low ABV.
I tried to convince my wife that it tasted just like coffee in order to move on to something shall we say ...more robust...but she wasn't buying it. Made the same face she does with every beer I have her try.
After I finished that one I had an IPA.

I just tasted it side by side with Hopslam.
It was a difficult task, not for the faint of heart. I have not yet decided which is better.
Maybe a repeat measurement tomorrow..................or tonight...................

I'll try to pick up some Chillwave tonight and repeat the same experiment, in order to establish a larger, more valid sample size. And as you know, one of the problems with most scientific studies is that the results are rarely confirmed or duplicated, because publishers want originality over all else. I will happily sacrifice my beer-career in order to collaborate with you on this most important topic.

    Or right now!

Reminds me of the time in college, when the grocery store had a discount on my favorite beer. I dropped one of the several bags that I was carrying into my apartment and cracked 2 of the bottles. Being a student on a budget, I could not in good conscience let them go to waste.

I ended up going to my midday class with a fair bit of a buzz, which was quite obvious to everyone. ;)

Well, I did a flimsy study on Hopslam and Chillwave, which will later be published and then widely circulated in robot-written articles throughout the interwebs. The methodology is flawless. I took a sip of one, then the other, both cooled to the exact same temperature and poured into the same kind of glass--in this case, a white wine glass. It was close, but I found that Chillwave demonstrated superior qualities. I haven't yet determined what these qualities are though, so further study will be necessary. Nonetheless, the preliminary results are almost conclusive, and worthy of bold, absolutist statements and endless debate.

Hey, me too, but in red wine glasses, the kind without the stem.

Duplicated studies, even under different conditions!!

On a much more serious note, I think it's because Hopslam is just a bit more sweet, with can be distracting from the other flavors.
Also, I thought I noticed less carbonation in Hopslam, though I'm wondering if the time it spent in my cabinet could have made a difference, even with the short number of weeks?

Yah, I found that too. The Chillwave has a better head, to go with its superior qualities. I guess I would say the Chillwave has more going on in general, it seems more complex, although the Hopslam has a lot to offer as well. I might have to bust the budget and get a case of Chillwave for a summer reserve. Could be great on a hot, muggy day. Wait, 70 dollars for a case of beer?

Unfortunately I have not found Hoplsam down here, though I haven't been to anywhere other than my usually couple grocery stores. Just not enough time lately to get out.

Found a 5 year old bottle of Chimay Grand Reserve in Belgium. Delicious very heavy bourbon flavor.
