Had a good little race today (5K came in 3rd in the 50-59 age group). Also won a raflle at the race for a standing paddle boat trip for two on the James River (I gotta talk the wife into going). Knocking back a Lagunitas Sucks to celebrate, and to help me come up with a way to convince her (it might take two).

Drinking a Cascade Lakes Cyclops IPA. Not bad. I kinda like it, not overwhelming for hops taste like some IPAS.

Guiness with the widget. I'm a sucker for holiday traditions I guess.
No green PBR for me today though.

Yuengling Light after my 10k (it was free, and I needed carbs lol). Then ordered one of my newly found favorites, Great Lakes Alchemy Hour (double IPA). Now hours later sitting here typing up a race report I'm enjoying an interesting beer I recently found - first time having it.

With my new glass (after rinsing out that light beer!) time to celebrate with a Dogfish Head Immort Ale. 11%. Very rich, has some familiar flavor from their Raison d’être with lots more flavor. I don't think it's worth the price tag  to buy it again but well worth having once at least.

THIS was an awesome beer I had here on St. Patrick's Day. My NEW favorite (though that probably changes monthly).
Portland Ale: "Combining German Pilsner and Noble aromatic hops makes this light bodied, straw colored ale a perfect choice for lager drinkers."

SN Celebration, still have a few left. I needed the "extra kick" after viewing the Fox 59 comments (link posted in the WSJ thread) What a bunch of dummies.
Besides, I FB friended the clomping hairy foot hater yesterday and she hasn't responded. In this day and age 24 hours counts as rejection.
    Torpedo to follow.

Avery's "The Maharaja" Imperial IPA. Hops, hops, hops, and even more hops. 10.5% ABV. Picked up a growler at my favorite waterin' hole http://www.sedonataphouse.com

    One of my favorites.

So, love at first taste. Epic Capt'n Crompton's Pale Ale.

I love Pale Ales and IPA's, but I find most pale ales lacking in the ABV and most IPA's a little overpowering. This is a perfect in between. Tons of flavor and not too sweet. Right to the top of my list.

Tonight I had two new beers to me. I went out to a fancy restaurant for my buddies birthday and had an organic pilsner (I forget the name of it) and it wasn't bad, for a pilsner type ale. I also had a beer that I am really fond of now, called the Burnside IPA. I am really fond of beer with lots of malt and this definitely had a lot. Was really really good in my opinion. It's a local beer as well. My buddy had a friend of his from Arkansas with us and he was so confused looking at the beer menu. Made me remember how inexperienced I was about beer prior to moving out here. All he wanted was a miller lite, which of course they did not have. They only had local microbrews and he was completely lost. He really liked the organic pilsner but hated the Burnside IPA. He really likes the watered down pilsner type ales because that is what he is used to back in Arkansas.

Drinking a Double Mountain Molten Lava Imperial IPA. At first I didn't really care for it, but now I kind of like it. Must have to grow on you.

One Celebration, one Ruthless Rye, a Bud Light, and whatever else is left in stock before I go to bed.
Will be off yeast for a week, so gotta clean house now!
Tomorrow night it'll be wine. At least four glasses.

Laurelwood Mother Lode Golden Ale. Went perfectly with the tacos at dinner.
