Beer snobs...every last one of you. When it comes to beer, its quantity that really counts.

Here's my beer 'fridge, stocked up for St. Patty's.

Going for a six pack or two of Big Rock IPA. This is from a brewery in Calgary, Alberta. Carb loading for LSR tomorrow. ;)

I know it's the day after technically, but I just finished up celebrating St. Patty's Day. After the St. Louis 5 mile run, I celebrated all morning, afternoon, night and some more this morning with Guinness. It's important to observe traditions, lest we lose them.

Theres a local St.Louis beer called Schlafly. They make an amazing oatmeal stout which is on the menu with dinner.

Speaking from a dude who just left the St. Louis area a few days ago, I drank quite a bit of Schlafly while I was in O'Fallon, IL, but I was keen on the Pale Ale and not so much on the stout, although I did give the stout a fair shake.

Trying a Flying Dog Old Scratch amber lager for the first time. I'm not usually a fan of lagers that aren't called Yuengling, but this one is pretty good.

Last post was 13 days ago? Come on guys. Is everyone trying to lose that winter beer gut?

I picked up a few brews in Wyoming on a ski trip.

Pako's IPA from Snake River Brewing. Tasty, but a little pricey at 10 bucks per 6 pack. Comes in cans. Any thoughts on canned beer vs. bottled?

Howling Wolf Weisse Bier from Grand Teton Brewing Co. I was impressed. An American weisse beer that is almost as good as a German weisse.

I prefer cans, supposedly they stay fresher for longer. I dump everything into a cup though. I really don't like drinking beer out of a bottle or can.

I'm not sure though why cans are still more expensive?

forgot about this thread ... Drinking red wine atm but there's an empty mixed case across the hall containing five bottles each of:

    Aufsesser Dunkel
    Alt-Bamberger Urstoff
    Weißenoher Kloster Sud
    Fässla Zwergla (also from Bamberg)

(a case here is twenty half-liter bottles and there's a deposit, on the case and the bottles. Mixing cases is normal)

With more than 200 breweeries in the region, I can mix and match cases pretty well, lol.

Check it out, an incomplete list:

    http://franken-wiki.de/index.php/Brauereien_in_Franken

Look at the dates. "Von" means "from" and "bis" means "to". There are a bunch with from dates like 1489 and 1673... and no "to" because they're still in operation. Mind blowing stuff for me!

    Prost!

LOL - you'd fit in well over here, dude. I get all excited about the huge selection and ancient tradition of beer brewing here, but I'm a blue-eyed American. I love discovering new/old brews and take my time drinking them and comparing them... being all snobby and stuff. My neighbors otoh just drink the shit. The guy next door gets his beer delivered every couple weeks - by truck directly from the brewery, about 20 cases at a pop.

chad, it's always about quality, not quantity. life is to short to drink cheap beer.
