What about pavement?

Fresca, that is very interesting! I can't imagine doing something like that so I could wear heels! I wish I would have paid more attention to what my feet were like before I began this journey. It's pretty cool that you can see changes like that! What was more interesting to me, though, were your observations about recovery time. It makes total sense and I think it's partially to blame for my stress fracture this summer. I'm finding that I can't ignore what my body tells me (like I used to). Kinda sucks because there are days when I just want to ignore what my feet are telling me!

I find as I run barefoot or minimlist on pavement (concrete sidewalk) I run more as if it is a variegated terrain. When I get to a curb I fly up over it, and I am constantly weaving and jumping to avoid rougher concrete, rocks and leaves and lips where the concrete has buckled. I did not do this at all in normal running shoes. I am constantly taking sideways hops, etc.
