I just had a stunning revelation.

My body is built for endurance, not for speed, and any attempts to do otherwise, always end badly for me, as does increasing weights -I have noticed.

I know that slow-twitch/fast-twitch muscles are genetic to some extent.

After talking to Brine Shrimp about some of this stuff, I realized that I would be much better off doing tons of high reps, low weights, even to failure, than I would even bothering with high weight.

So I came up with what is probably a correlation for endurance runners to high reps, low weight, and speed runners to low reps, high weights. Both end in the same result, but each is conducive to what is probably their genetic predisposition.
