'Watch for dog poo and pebbles', advises barefoot Leicester marathon runner
Leicester Mercury
Far from being a fundraising gimmick, however, the 42-year-old engineer, says he just prefers running without shoes and so that's exactly what he did ...

I'd rather step in dog poop than deal with an injury from running shoes, but that's just me.

Someone I know, experienced shoe-wearing runner, stepped in a large piece of glass which meant a trip to A&E, which fortunately happened to be nearby.

I think if he was a barefoot runner he would be used to keeping a look out for dangerous objects (and dog poo) and probably not stepped in it in the first place.

And might have had thicker soles too. :barefoot:
