Hi guys, i'm new to the minimalist running, i have started running in vibram five fingers 3 months ago, 2 times a week (from 2km for the first days to 6-7km now). I think they are great, i needed some time to get used but now i won't get back to my old shoes.
The only think i could't avoid to notice is that my feet have become wider... is that normal? I don't mind having wider feet, but if this keeps going on i will have to buy new shoes...
Did you experienced something similiar? How much width your feet have gained?
I think mine have gained 0,5cm~
    Sorry for my bad english.

I don't have a clue. It seems my toes are more 'spreading' since I started running barefooted one year ago. (I only rarely use my vibrams).
I didn't do any measurements of my feet.

I must say I have not really noticed any widening.

Never used VFFs but run either unshod or in huarache sandals. After a year of unshod I noticed that the nails on my toes no longer dug into their neighbors. I also used to measure either an A or even AA width (super narrow) and now I'm between B and C width.

I can't answer the poll, since there's not a category for barefoot widening, but I do believe my feet are wider since becoming a barefooter. I wish I would have measured my feet when I started back in 2008. Before that I was barefoot a great deal as a kid and whenever I could otherwise after that. I believe all exposure helps.

I'm with TJ! Never measured my foot width before, but I don't think they've gotten any wider! My toes have always been scrunched up!

I was already a 4E width before I started running barefoot, and haven't noticed my boots/shoes fitting any differently (including custom boots I had made before I started running barefoot). I have noticed that I seem to have a bit more toe splay that I had before.
