I surveyed the route and it looks very barefoot friendly. There's a small section - just after the start and just before the finish - that may be minimally coarse, but nothing a seasoned BFR can't handle. There are 20m difference in elevation from the highest to lowest points on the route. Those changes are over several instances of gradual ups and downs. The route snakes through residential Old Towne Manassas. Should be a beautiful event!
