Come on out for a brisk mid-fall 5K on the W&OD Trail and support Kinhaven Pre-School while you're at it. This race is perfect for us barefoot and minimalist runners as we have our very own division. I know it's short notice but I only just learned of this race. Hope to see you there.

Registration is $30.00 now, $35.00 day of.

Maybe next year, if we have enough notice, we can give them the Stomp of Approval to display on their site.

How did the BFR division come about, NYAB? Did you set that up?

Unfortunately I am very busy this Sunday.

And I missed this race last year.

They had a barefoot division last year as well. Not sure how it came about.

I learned about the race from Bob Ewings web site:

Good luck who ever is running!

Funny thing, I just happened upon this race. I'd been talking with area race directors about possible locations for next year's IBRD and found out this race had a BF/Minimalist division.

On that note, I guess I'll go ahead and leak this now. Official announcement coming soon:

The Naked Foot 5K has added a DC date for next year...on May 6, no less! If that weren't enough, Hudson Trail Outfitters and Vibram are on board for the engagement. I've been working with locals and the folks from NF5Kon the preliminaries that will help this event be agreat success.

Mike Wardian, director of the Kinhaven race, is a Vibram advocate and a promoter of barefoot and minimalist running. I'll be meeting with him and some other staff after the race to talk about the IBRD.

This is going to be a huge event. As more solid details materialize, I'll be posting updates here at the BRS.
