The chiropractor I'm going on Thursday uses ultrasound for tp-s. I've never heard about it before. Is it effective compared to dry needling which showed great results in the past?

i've never heard of it but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. i'm sure after 35 years of being a doc i would look for a way to save my hands too. for now i'll just use my hands.

Ultasound is used in conventional medicine - physiotherapy.
I have problematic achilles and had couple times ultasound therapy with fastum gel.
One cycle was 10 procedures in 2 weeks. It helped for me.
Not sure if trigger point ultrasound is same. I believe only to conventional medicine.

In my experience, it will feel good, since the deep massage using the US head helps knead the muscles. For me, I dropped those modalities years ago when I began to use myofascial release.

Do you or your doc understand why the trigger points exist? It is usually because of poor movement patterns which if unresolved, will constantly reintroduce the same trigger points.

Hope that helps. Dr. C
