It's not too late to start logging your barefoot miles/kms in the BRS 'Toes on the Road' competition. A link to September's table is here. Our French friends are currently leading the field, but we can still catch them... Go UK barefoot runners..!
Hi there! I just joined the forum - I think I already follow you on Twitter. I've copied over my barefoot/sandals running data from Strava. The spreadsheet says to include miles walked barefoot but I don't track those so I can't do that. Is there a winter challenge for this year? Mornings are getting chilly here.
Welcome, Hannah! I'm sure there will be a challenge this year? Who's heading it up this year, you guys? Search for Winter Challenge on the site, Hannah. You may have some luck there.
Thanks TJ! I found the winter challenge: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...GwNF_u1aaP5M4e-ZBLXu295WU/edit#gid=2044118460. This is the motivation I need to keep running over winter
Hi Hannah -always nice to see another UK runner on board... (...the morning's are starting to get a bit Autumnal now aren't they!...) Enjoy..
Hi Hannah, I believe we do follow one another on Twitter - you introduced me to the world of microfiction. Great to have you on board for ToRC - you've almost doubled the UK tally already! Look forward to seeing you on the Winter Challenge too. Is it going to be another snowy one, I wonder..? Best, B
Well done Team GB (Go Barefoot, or Great Britain - you decide!). We finished September's ToRC on the top step of the podium in terms of total distance (barefoot + minimal) and in second place for pure barefoot. A great performance, and still a little extra something to aim for in October... Let's keep up the good work!
We're off to a flying start in October's challenge, but we would love to have more team mates. Here's a link to this month's table, so get logging those runs... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...6PCrc-C0oO72Tl_K0smA2vKNs/edit#gid=1417523430 Cheers, B
I'm lagging a bit this month, particularly in the barefoot category. I have on-and-off soreness in my shin so I'm sticking to short runs and using sandals to allow me to run on gravel instead of concrete. I'll run more when I'm sure it's recovered.
Sounds wise! I'm down on the barefoot a bit too this month - the farmers cut back the hedges at this time of year, which means lots of big, nasty thorns on the ground, several of which have found their way in to my soles! I wish you a speedy recovery...
