I told most who asked at yesterday's race that the bare feet were doctor's orders.
I admitted to the osteoarthritic neck, back, and feet, and told the truth regarding several of my doc's recommendations to continue running so long as I listened to my body.
My body in turn told me that running barefoot was less of an impact on my arthritic joints,
so it sort of WAS like doctor's orders, right?

Board I concur with that. After bilateral ankle and calcaneus fractures (both at the same time due to fall) I developed arthritis in both feet. Running barefoot has kept the discomfort at bay. Sometimes when out of town due to work, there are times that I can not get a run in for a week. By the end of that week my feet and ankles hurt. I noticed since running barefoot that even my range of motion has improved in both feet.

Any joint pain a doctor can't properly diagnose is arthritis.

Ok, I have to confess I might just get what you barefoot lifestyle people are on about. Went straight from pilates to the supermarket & had no shoes with me (well, had heels, not a good look with gym kit!) & I have to admit I found it strangely liberating, though I did have to resist the urge to dance to the music they were playing - I never have that problem in shoes!
Sub-confession: I changed into my gym kit on my commute.

Well, that's perfectly understandable...I have to dance whenever I hear "Karma Chameleon", myself...whenever I hear the beat, it's like I can't control myself...

My toddler heard that song on the radio one day and then he started singing it constantly. I thought it was cute although the song got stuck in my head. My wife on the other hand banished me from listening to that 80's station...

It sounds like Mrs. NickW does not appreciate the classics...

My little boy and I were listening to that opening song on Celebrity Apprentice, Money, Money, Money, and he looks over to me and says, "Mommy, for some reason my butt's dancin!" Hee.

Hahaha! That's why I was willing to give bfr a chance that's for sure. I also believe in Bigfoot and hope to see him on one of my morning runs through the park. o_O

Ha! Karma Chameleon's the song I sing (usually silently in my head) to keep my cadence up :)
Of course Bigfoot's real, but do you not think he might just be a particularly heavy set & hirsute BFer? He could even post here!

Why do I think Chaser has this secret fascination with Boy George, the Miss USA pageant and "The Crying Game"?

I sure hope those Nanny-cam batteries get replaced soon.

So I headed to Amazon.com to buy my DH's birthday present. I pre-ordered Lego Battman 2 Superheroes for the Wii, which I know will be well-received. I also ordered Harry Potter, years 7-9. My confession is this: I had to edit my order, because I think we already own the second Harry Potter Lego game. But I'm not sure, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I've played it several times. I swear, sometimes I do not have a brain in my head.
