I have not run the 8K, but the half marathon course is great for barefoot. The full marathon course does cross a bridge with ridged cement and this year went through part of a military base that included some gravel road so not the best for barefoot, but fine in a minimal shoe or for the very experienced BFR. The Half is corraled so not to bad of a start and the full is a small enough crowd that it thins out quickly.
