Barefoot run that is held at the beginning of the month (usually 1st Sunday) unless other commitments move it. A short run followed by a coffee at a local cafe in different areas around Adelaide.
    Time 10:30am

I know what it is like to be a team of one
Have you got any local barefoot runners or have you, like me, failed to sell the concept to the shoe loving fraternity?
Had a good beach run this morning before the weekend rain headed in.

Definitely nobody around here going unshod with the exception of me. I’ve noticed a couple of different groups out running but not really sure how organized they are. I’m pretty introverted anyway, don’t really do well with to many people around.

People? Horrid things - should be banned ;)

Do you fancy a virtual run together one day? We could pick a (very short) distance and a time, then have a virtual pint together afterwards and discuss the weather?

Note: I was going to suggest a virtual cup of tea, but 1) that is just soooo English and 2) beer sounds much more rugged and outdoorsy.

    That’s a good suggestion...
Soon as I’ve finished re-habbing my foot I’d be up for that...

And thus are great ideas born...
As founding members, I vote that we get to pick the time. Would a weekend work for you?
(Never give me a stupid idea to play with - I'm like a huge shaggy dog with a bone afterwards)

That would be an ambition, to do a barefoot run on every continent. Well, I'm thinking of a New York holiday next year so I shall have to get the shoes off and run there if I can find a park. I might even run around The Teardrop memorial, if I can find my way there.
I did a cross country today, with some Xeros on as it was muddy and slippery and I still managed to catch my foot under a tree root an go flying and belly flopping onto the ground. Kind of makes you proud heading back covered in mud, looks like you've worked hard.

Weekends are good for me. I've got a run next weekend with fellow barefooter David, we'll do 6km then go for a coffee.

Those tree roots can be insidious in the way they’re calmly laying there then when you least expect it reach out to grab you. I rocked my big toe on the left foot on a trail run the other day - big wake up call there!

When I’ve gone down the first thing I usually do is look around hoping no one has witnessed my trail faux pas. I’ve only gone down once barefooting (downhill stretch on a mud slicked bike path) since I’ve been going unshod- no laces to loosen and trip me up, no off camber landings to throw me off...

I met up with David and Cathy for a run from the beachside cafe on Broadway, Glenelg and we ran along the Esplanade to Brighton jetty. It was a cool day, with a southerly breeze but it was clear and blue nonetheless. The sea looked beautiful but it would be pretty cold at this time of the year. When we got to the turnaround point at the jetty we went onto the beach, the tide was out so there was plenty of firm sand to run on. It was a short run of around 6km then we headed over to the Organic Cafe for some lunch and coffee. A good run to ease me back into the regular routine of getting my body moving after the glacial movements at work.

I spent this weekend and will spend the next two in planes going back and forth across "the pond" (not as glamourous as it sounds), but once I'm properly back in France, I'll start gnawing at that intercontinental stick.

Not a word that I normally associate with myself!
In fact, it was to combat the elephant legs that I always get when flying. Apparently it's not a Good Thing to have ankles the width of your calves (they were still slightly swollen when I took my profile picture).
