Running Plans for 2013

Good luck and have fun, Ms. Silly.

I just plan on putting one foot in front of the other after I've healed from this week's surgery. Wish me well. It's on Wednesday! Yikes!

What're you all running in 2013?

Here's my schedule:

TARC spring thaw 6 hour, Andover, MA - Sometime in late march?
North Face Endurance Challenge Bear Mountain, NY 50 miler - May 4th - already registered
El Scorcho, Fort Worth, TX - Mid-July - most probably!

And you?

Doom and I will be back again this year. Chase may also venture up for the race.

I'm thinking:

Cow Town 50k, Ft. Worth, TX - Feb
Grasslands 50 mile, LBJ National Grasslands, TX - March
Hells Hills 50 mile, not too far from Austin, TX - April
El Schorcho 50k Ft., Worth, TX - July
Leadville Silver Rush 50, Leadville, CO - July
Cactus Rose 100 mile, Bandera, TX - October

Here's my list as it stands right now, people keep trying to convince me to run other races as well. But I have some commitments with my North Face gig this year that are taking priority.

Actif Epica - Southern Manitoba (130km) Feb
Sandhills 50km Ultra - Fargo, North Dakota - March
Manitoba Trail 50 miler - Spruce Woods, MB - May

Where's The Beach In Stead, MB - 33 km trail run - July (33km of sandy trails hench the beach reference)
The Canadian Death Race, 125km, Grand Cache, AB - August
Lost Soul 100 miler, Lethbridge, AB - September
Swamp Donkey, 9 hour adventure race, Whiteshell, MB - September
Leming Loop: 24 hour timed trail run, Winnipeg, MB - October
Surf The Murph 100 km - Duluth, MN, October

It's going to be a busy year.

I'm trying not to commit to so many races next year. My goal is to do ultra distances without the pressure of being in a race.

January - Carlsbad Marathon
Feb and March - Group runs on the Zion 100 course, sections of the Zion traverse on my own
April - pacing for the Zion 100
May - Grand Canyon R2R2R and pacing for the Bryce 100
End of June and first part of July - Trail running and beer drinking in Southern Germany
Fall - Zion Traverse and another trip to the Grand Canyon exploring the Tonto trail.

JustSayGo - have you done Garden Spot Village before? It sounds like a fun race, and it's one of the few road marathons that appeals to me.
I have not done it before, but I'm locked and loaded for this year. I'm originally from Lancaster so it'll be a nice homecoming race. I don't know about the actual roads along the race route but I know that most roads in the area should be fine for barefooting. Are you local?

Jan - Potentially doing a 10K charity run on New Years Day
Mar - SF Color Run 5K
Apr - SF Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon
Jun - [Tentative] SF Marathon (I really need to think about this)
Aug - Race Through the Redwoods
Nov - Turkey Trot

These are the ones that I know about. There's a high probability that I'll throw in a trail race or two in addition to whatever random 5 or 10K that comes along. Also I might skip the SF Marathon to have more time training for either the Twin Cities (Fresno and Clovis) in November or the California International Marathon (Sacramento) in December, but we shall see.

Your doing Burning River, that one is on my bucket list one of these years. Let me know how it goes for you.
