I've always wondered if stretching was a good idea when my legs are sore. I'm really just starting to get serious and still get the dreaded calf soreness when I push myself too hard. Will this just exacerbate the mythical micro tears or help to relax my inordinately taut soleus?

Oh, and I'm learning more and more the wonders of using ice.

Good question, Fang. I would like to know too for my situation: my tendons have apparently been attacked by the antiobiotics I was taking. As what point can/should I start stretching my calves again? I can't even walk without pain right now, and thank God for the anti-inflammatories, for without them, I wouldn't even be able to take steps at all. I understand the little microtears are the good one, since the cause the body to speed healing to that area, but at what point is it too much?
