Tried to comment on the blog, but it doesn't seem to like any of my internet identities! Anyway:

How close behind does a runner need to be to get the benefit of the wind being blocked?

Wind with hills - that will test a runner's fortitude! Nice race.

Not much of a hill I'm afraid HappySongbird, course starts at about 12m, heads down to about -2m and then back up again.
