Trying to get back into the swing of things after a few weeks with not much running to speak of. Night-owl kids! Anyway, enough whining, I got out this morning for a lovely 7km winter beach run. Quite cold on the sand, and the water is about as cold as it gets down here, but the sun was rising and it was a clear and still morning. Saw a few of the local diehard swimmer types out for a morning dip, but I don't have the intestinal fortitude required for that kind of endeavour so I just went in up to my knees at the end.
5.8km this morning, back out in the rain. Fairly nice temperature though and legs feeling pretty good at the moment. Not too many other runners out today -we're so fickle here when it comes to weather....
Boulder and I did a 3 mile run Tuesday at 5:00 am. Still warm here. We heard a few owls calling out. We also spotted lots of rabbits. Clear skies left way to star and moon gazing!
Wednesday morning 6k on the beach. COVID lockdown rules were relaxed a bit in my neck of the woods so there were a few more out and about.
8.5km early doors for me today. Fairly cool breeze which made it just right for running. Lots of people around too -other runners, dog walkers, fitness groups etc… Nice start to the day
Really great 3 mile country road run. Still dark at the start. I mean really dark! I don't use a head light but have a slim line LED flashlight I only use for emergency's. We spotted cows, horses, one large water fowl and some birds. We heard 4 barred Owls and one rooster.
I did 2 runs this week- 5 miles on Monday and 4 miles on Thursday. I was going to run this weekend but decided to walk with my wife both days instead- 10 miles combined both days. I hope to get out 2 or 3 times this upcoming week- it is supposed to be beautiful all week.
