Are we calling this week 13? Its all a blur!

I began the week with 8.5 miles in Sockwas alongside dear hubby on Monday. It was threatening rain and there was an icy cold wind, but I managed to dress just right and was quite comfortable.

Biggest problem right now is a lot of trouble with my feet cracking again. I let the regular application of olive oil to my soles slide, since they were doing so well, and now I seem to be paying the price. Such is life in a dry climate.

Is this the time to roll out all the urea jokes?

Meanwhile, I'm back into running proper now after finally getting the confidence/courage to stop worrying about my stress fracture (almost a year ago now) and consider myself fully healed. I did my first continuous 5km a few weeks ago and ran an 8km fun run on the weekend. My fitness is a little down, but I'm gradually building up and not worrying too much about pace.

Monday: 6.5km on the beach, mid morning on Easter Monday. Sluggish, thanks to a few days of heavy chocolate consumption. :hungry:
Tuesday: 5.5km around the streets. Started in darkness and stepped in a small bit of horse poo. At least it wasn't warm I guess. :stinkyfeet:
Thursday: 6km around a park at lunch time - 300m run, walk for 30-40 seconds just to break up the continuous runs with something different. Nice to go faster for a change, but I slowed down a bit at the end.

Most enjoyable 3.5km this morning back out with my shod running buddy (one day I'll manage to get them to try BF -I'm sure I can feel the curiosity growing each time we run!...;)).
Very pleasant morning -bit chilly to start off, but nice and dry and some great views across the lake again.
Legs, feet, etc... all still good..

Sweet 5 mile run this morning.
Cool breeze, I saw a few rabbits and a cool moon.
I really worked on some flow

6.1 miles Wednesday, 12.7 today, skin to ground these times. Very pleasant spring weather.

Wednesday a young boy, maybe 5-6, was walking with his family when he saw me running and was inspired to break into a run. Since they were going the opposite direction, as he passed I offered a high-five, which he returned enthusiastically. Then, his slightly older sister decided not to be left out, quite obviously also desiring a high five. Such fine big smiles from both of them and their parents.

Keeping up the moderate biking, swimming, and weight lifting 2-3 times a week. Been doing most of the swimming right after my runs, which has been surprisingly easy and relaxing.

Week started off slow, it's my 'hell week' at work. On top of that I started out Monday morning with just a little more than an hour of sleep (often happens when switching from nightshifts back to dayshifts and I just can't get switched around). So didn't do anything but a small amount of stairs at work Mon/Tues. Wednesday after work I did an easy 5.7 miles on the bike path along the river downtown, and Thursday I went to a trail I've only visited once before on bike, and did a little bit of speed workout near the Hoover Reservoir. The high water levels and gusty wind were making the very tame little lake crash against the nearby shore - a wonderful sound I rarely get to hear in Ohio, reminds me of my stompin' grounds back in NY along Lake Ontario (well not really, but the sound is nice during a run). 5 miles.

I've heard of this a few times lately. I have terribly dry skin during the winter, but never a problem with my feet. Seems my feet are always moist no matter what, as they sweat even wearing sandals in cool weather (or at the office). My hands are different story. My fingers will get so dry the fingerprint readers on the doors have a hard time scanning them. My house is drafty, and I heat with wood, so in the winter it is normal to see my indoor humidity in the 15-25% range. Never a problem with my feet though. Hope you get yours sorted out so it doesn't bother your runs!

    11.7 miles today.

Best day of the year so far, loverly blue sky and a gentle breeze.
Decided to open up a bit today, felt good up and downhill.

    Wonderful views their skedaddle!

Not so nice here today. Winds gusting to 60mph, threat of thunderstorms, hail, rain, and snow. And we hit all those marks. I did have a narrow window today of 1 hour I hit the trail, winds weren't too bad probably 20-30mph at the time but most of the trail is sheltered a bit in the trees. 7.3 miles with 3 of them slightly faster than my 1/2 marathon pace. Not sure if I'll get a chance to run tomorrow. Would like to do a shorter long run but not sure if it will happen.

I feel for you Tristan, we had that weather last week, 106mile recorded gust, roofs blown off, fences and trees down etc.
I'm getting the itch to run long but i'm trying to be patient this year, not sure how long that will last though;)

I will Nopp, just grab it when it does.

It did and I grabbed it, 6 km today and it felt great.

Making a total of 11.88 km this week. Didn't find the time to run more than two times this week.

Most excellent 6 mile run just at sunrise this morning.
I went down by the Junior Collage. I saw rabbits, ducks, robins, and many other birds.
    Good weather here.

@Nopp looks like a great place to run!

106mph? That's crazy! Might as well just stay in bed (or head to the basement)!

I was tired from consecutive runs but went out for a really mild long run, 10.5 miles today. Just took it super easy. Still windy, and cool, but nice blue skies.

28.5 miles for the week. I'll have less time to run next week I think.

First quarter is done (plus a couple days now). 241 miles for me. Not to my goal, and spring will be a little crazy too, but hopefully summer/fall will be better. Also 188 miles on the bike so far, over half that is on rollers inside though. Also up to 1719 floors up and 2167 floors down on my stair workouts at work.
