[May 18, 2013] R2R2R (Grand Canyon, AZ)

Come join us for a R2R2R crossing, or just to hang out at the Grand Canyon. This is completely unsupported and unsanctioned event, please don't overestimate your abilities it is highly recommended not to hike to the river and back in a day, we are planning on doing it twice. That's my last warning.

We are not traveling in groups, everyone is encouraged to go at his/her pace. You can barefoot a large portion of this but shoes are recommended as a backup. Some will be starting Friday evening and others will be starting early Saturday morning. The plan is to finish around the same time and hang out and enjoy some various IPA's.

Rick has reserved two campgrounds at the Mather campground. Beer is an acceptable form of repayment to Rick, but it must be a delicious micro brew from your area.

Not sure about the planned routes, I was thinking of going down South Kaibab, up and down the North Kaibab and then up Bright Angel. S. Kaibab is a bit steeper than Bright Angel but shorter as well. There are water stops along Bright Angel and N. Kaibab.
