Greetings fellow bf-ers!

I am on week six of an 8-month imprisonment on crutches, due to knee surgery for the above injury. The doc did a "microfracture" of the bone surface, which is a nice way of saying he drilled holes in my femur to make scar cartilege grow where there is currently only bone. I suffered this injury running a "mud race" (whilst wearing shoes), but had previously been regularly running 5 miles every other day barefoot.

Does anyone have any experience running bf after an injury such as this? Certainly, any running in shoes is a long way away (if ever), but I REEEAAAALLLY want to get back into running bf again!

Thanks for any insight,

Mark

Man, that sucks, Mark.  Are

Man, that sucks, Mark. Are you saying you still have 6-1/2 months left on crutches? Why is the healing process so, long? Why do you have to wait so long before trying to run again? Even if it's just 1/16th of a mile? Maybe once you can run again, no matter how well that might be, you only run in very short distances to start with and very gradually, slowly build up from there?
