Anyone knows if the Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathin, 5K & 10K is barefoot friendly?
I'm considering running the 10K race, it would be my first official unshod race.

    Thanks,
    Pablo

I've run it several times several years ago barefoot. However, I've also been told that I'm not a good judge of what is "barefoot friendly" (and I agree), because I've run on all sorts of surfaces and terrains without any problems. Also in the decade or more since I last ran that course, the pavement may have weathered, they might have changed the course, etc..

One warning, some of the underpasses on the multi-use paths can be a bit wet in spots with slipper algae. I slid on one such spot, luckily did not fall, but did kick myself in the calf trying to maintain my balance, and had a beautiful streak of blood on my calf the rest of the race.

Thanks for your reply Ken Bob!
If I do run it, I'll be extra careful on the underpasses.
I'll report if I end up running it....being a holiday I still have to get approval from the missus, she might have other plans....
