As temperatures reach 30°C with a humidex of near 40°C, I was wondering how you were handling running in the summer heat? In the heat, I typically run trails or avoid afternoon runs. I have a road event (42k) coming up and am concerned about how my feet will hold up to the hot asphalt. Does anyone have suggestions?

Good advice Ken Bob -- Makes sense about seeking out the rougher surface (less surface area for the hot asphalt to be in contact with the skin). I current look for the painted line. White or yellow it definitely is cooler.

My marathon is in Vermont with a 7am start. I'll remember to increase the cadence (which is pretty good advice for any time)
