That's great. I bet we see more of this. My guess is that what we'll tend to see are more winners who train barefoot but race in VFF's or other minimalist shoes.

For me, (some midlife crisis guy trying to run as fast as he can before all the wheels fall off), I think running barefoot (some) has helped my efficiency of effort a lot, but that the extra little protection of a minimalist shoe allows me to run faster in a race.

So nice to see High School kids jumping straight into barefoot / minimalist running. They seem to adjust so easily to it...4 miles first time out!? Wow! It's nice to see an already unscathed foot being set free!
