https://www.mycountyparks.com/Count.../11180/Grounding-Barefoot-Walk-in-Nature.aspx Thursday, August 23, 2018 Research is finding that "grounding/earthing in nature," allowing skin to come in direct contact with the ground, has health benefits and can balance the body's central nervous system. Individuals with heightened sensory processing, such as those with autism, sometimes find the practice of grounding /earthing to be calming. Teens and adults on the autism spectrum along with a support person are invited to join us for a barefoot, mindful walk in nature led by Dr. Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, Integrative Medicine physician. Event co-sponsored with Autism Society of Iowa. Pre-registration required; deadline is August 17. Minimum age 10. Fee $15
There's only one month left until the grounding session at Thomas Mitchell Park in Altoona. I believe there's still time to register.
