Great Wall, Great Run 100th Barefoot Marathon

Local runner completes 100th barefoot marathon. Malibu Local Alberto “Barefoot” Perusset completed his 100th barefoot marathon on the Great Wall of China, while temperatures climbed close to 100 degrees.


Alberto Perusset, known as the “Barefoot Runner,” completed The Great Wall Marathon on May 20. Perusset described the run as an “epic battle in 97 degrees.” He completed the race in nine hours and 12 minutes, longer than his usual time of around six hours.

Perusset reported that out of 800 runners, 300 quit due to the heat. This was Perusset’s 100th barefoot marathon.
