Follow the info in this email only or what you find on the BRS site under the Georgia Chapter's page. Please RSVP/reply to this email to let me know if you plan to attend, so we can be on the lookout for you. Once you do, I will give you my cell number, so you can call me should you get lost, be running late, or need to cancel.Silver Comet Trail (Cobb County) Where: Highland Station Shopping Center Parking Lot, Smyrna, GA (see map of parking lot below for the words "Park Here." The Orange X shows the start of the Silver Comet Trail. The parking lot is not too far from The Marvell Road Trailhead.)Date: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 9:00am - 12:00pm Link: Silver Comet Trail Additional Info: Let's meet at Highland Station Shopping Center Parking Lot in Smyrna, GA. The Mavell Road Trailhead has nice restrooms, paved parking, picnic tables, water, and emergency phone, and is not too far from the Highland Station Shopping Center Parking Lot. Visit this link for map and driving directions: We may have two groups depending on attendance: one for a 3-miler, and one for a 5-miler or longer route. I will more than likely be hungry afterwards, so please join me for some lunch, if you are interested. BBQ has been suggested.
Visit for an interactive map (pictured below). Once there, click the orange or blue areas for detailed information, printable maps & directions. The marker we are interested in is the second to the last orange square on the very right in Cobb County. Once you mouse-over it, you will see it reads Mavell Road Trailhead. I'm not sure if I will be at this one, will see Sat. nite if I'm in. I have ran a half marathon there and biked there too. It is barefoot friendly and the flattest place I have ran in the Atlanta area. Sundays there can be a lot of people and bike riders so will have to watch out for the bikes flying past.
