    Hello:

Just wondering if anyone is planning to run part/half/whole Flying pig next spring. The price increases as of tonight, 31 Oct., 2011! I am trying to decide what part of it I want to do and would be more apt to do the whole if other barefooters are. Spookie!

I'm planning on running. Still deciding if I'll do the half or full.

    Best regards,

    Michael

Training in the cold is scary, especially today. Seems as though I've been seeing ghosts all day. I just registered for the half. 13.1 is much easier and that way I won't feel all the anxiety from now 'till May.

I am going to run the flying pig, my first full marathon. I am all registered. Do we have a gang of barefooters going to this event?

I have run the pig twice ...the full and the half. Planning on running the half barefoot. Been barefoot for 3 l/2 months now. Also have done a l/2 marathon already barefoot.

Hey guys! I did the full pig barefoot in 2011. It gets really rough in the middle. The pavement I mean. there were only 3 really barefoot runners last year. I did pass one in sandals and a few in vebrams. I did most of my training last winter in vebrams because of all of the snow, but I was able to switch back to barefoot a few weeks before the race. The transition was fast for me because I've been bf running for 3 yrs now.
Unfortunately, I won't be running next year because I have to study for theP E licensing exam in April and won't have time to train.
    Good luck to you!

    Hi Liz,

Perhaps I read about you last year around race day. My best with the PE exam. Hope to meet up with you at some race. I'll be the one without shoes, how about you?

Thanks for the tip Liz, I will probably bring my huaraches or VFF's then if the pavement gets too rough. I've done 6's and 8's in 4mm thick huaraches but very little completely barefoot. If the weather stays mild this winter I should be ok in training. I did just 1000m today barefoot on the asphalt and it felt good.

See you at the pig, Per.

Two months to the Pig! Can't wait for it and the warmer weather. I am not sure about meeting up because I don't like getting down there too early and the start is a crowded mess. No doubt I'll be lined up in the Porta potty lines - barefooted - yuk! Anyway, I'll be doing the half and will be in the proper corral. I hope to see some of you along the course or afterwards.
