    Steve,

Can you describe the terrain a little bit? I haven't been through the old city in a few years. I'm sure there is some pavement and concrete. Any cobblestones or gravel?

The course is considered to be a flat and fast one -- all pavement and concrete, I dont think there is any section that is cobblestone. Streets are cleaned prior to the race - this is the 31st year of the race. it is well organized and parking is on site at the race start area (new parking garage).

I have done it in ordinary shoes + ordinary shoes and crutches. No problems.

I will next year do it barefoot - slow.

For the time being I am in Sweden but will arrive in St. Augustine this Thursday.

Will check the surface next week and report.

This weekend I might do a 50K barefooot in Flagler Beach.

Most likely I will not achieve the 50K within time limits.

    But I will try.

@Ultrakg - Good luck at Flagler Beach!

Glad to find others that are interested in running the race with us BRS style.

The course is an easy one - very flat, all pavement and concrete. The race has great attendance, families, and seasoned runners. Very well organized, great volunteers, water stations, easy markings etc.. If you havent run this race before its a beautiful route regardless of being barefoot or in shoes!

Hope to see you both there (Warren & Ultrakg)

One of my friends has done around the world.

Now he is trying to do it down first - it's done,

and then back up again. Restart 2011.01.01.

He claims that when he ran his first 5K he thought - that was an ultra.

I'll be at the starting point in January.

PS. I was and will rejoin the club in St. Augustine who also is responsible for the race.

I just joined the group and excited to find other BF runners in the area. I just signed up for the Matanzas 5K on 1/22. Where are all the BF runners meeting prior to the race?
