First steps in Yosemite

Hi...this is a blog-post about a recent hike in Yosemite, 9 miles barefoot, 7 miles back in shoes. To summarize, the 16-mile round-trip was mostly sand and very pleasant barefoot hiking....the exception being the exposed granite rock faces, where the rock is flaking apart into grit...those sections got a little prickly, especially as they heated up in the sun
