Congrats Jen and David ! Any more info about your modified VFFs ?

Dan - my VFFs are the Bikilas, which have a ton of support. I cut off the siding and the back support, completely, and also the toes. They are now basically like socks with tread. And they no longer cause trigger points in my ankles. I use them on super slippery mud.

Oh I forgot about the toes - I similarly modified a pair last year but they are getting pretty snug in the toes. Might have to try that.
