YAY Peter!!!! woohoo
And I have just recruited a luna wearing ultrarunner
With Peter and newest member Geordi ...........da dadada da da da DAAAAA.....we are in 1st place
now I shall just slink off and add my teeny tiny 5kms for the day.........
Well done everyone !! And welcome to Geordi !
Finally put some km in (I think. Let me know if they don't appear in the spreadsheet). I haven't been running much but I'm doing the Glenbrook trail marathon on Sunday so that'll add a few kms for us.
Anyone else doing Glenbrook?
Nice one Manuwi ! We're way ahead at the moment !!!
I'd love to do a trail marathon, but that will be for the future...I am still building my km's...Currently I think I could finish a 20km or so
Good luck with the marathon !
Not I....but if it is on The Oaks trail you will have a great fast run ( same track I did the Careflight 25 on)
We're just 8km behind Illinois, I am sure we can do that !! Pommies are on our toes as well, which should help motivation !!!
I added some more but now we're about 60 behind.
Our average per member is 82km
Illinois average per member is 127km
I don't like running enough to catch up with them
I'm letting the side down this month - haven't been able to run for a week now. I'll be even more depressed if this lets England get in front of us!
Good job everybody!
hi guys! I did well adding my milage until I came down like a tone of bricks with a cortisone shot in my itb last week. Kal assures my my itb problem is merely a blip and will pass. I do have a few more km to add - I have to check my watch but I think there was probably about 30 or so there. I am not allowed to run for 10 days and then we will see what happens from there - unfortunately the milage from pool running is not worth adding - although a lot more fun than I thought. Perhaps we could implement a converter - an hour pool running = 1 hour land running ...it is barefoot after all. I have been miserable at the very mention of not being able to run for 10 days, but I plugged in my waterproof sony this morning and powered out an hour of pool running and half an hour of laps this morning - and it was pretty good......wonders will never cease! I am supposed to be training for 100km in October, so if the itb all clear once my ban is lifted I will give you plenty of km's ......btw I would be very very very interested if any of you have barefoot itb experiance that you would like to share.
Just take it easy mate, while we want to beat the poms, no point getting hurt !!!
Well I took the kids bike riding and we did a little three km, but going to TRY and hit out 17.5 km tomorrow trying to get some more road distance in as opposed to trails which is all I have really done since early this year .......Mudgee Running Festival was on this weekend......saw 1 in 5's and a pair of Lunas
Geordie maybe there are some old posts in Ask the Docs Forum?
Glad to see that us pommies have got you Aussies motivated!
I've put in my 17 + 3 but we need a lot more to get ahead of Illinois they are MACHINES!!!
Geordie are you allowed to run before the end of August??
I know it may be too late - but I finally manageed to sit down and add the km's for August. I had done more than I thought since my last add - 49km - so 149km for the month. Here to a better September First run tomorrow - so we will see
Well done aussies, we finish 4th !! For september the rule has changed. The system will award our Chapter 3 points for each runner above 50km, so the more runners, the more points !!! It is not about the total number of miles anymore !
I'm hoping to be back running again in a couple of weeks after doing some intensive calf strength work. It is making a difference I can feel it in the pain I was getting in the morning fading off.
The thing I find odd is that I made the assumption that with all the barefoot running I was doing that my calves would be automatically strengthened and did not need any extra work.
That may not be the case.
I did get delivery of a set of the Bare Padz. I will only use them in the winter when it is cold out on the roads. I have tried them and they take a bit of getting used to. I went on a walk the other day and found that they kept slipping off. They only pull over the front of the foot so there was no retaining feature. I think it may be different when running and landing with a more neutral stance rather than walking.
