Lets make a run in August. We can have a little run, then a meet and greet so we can get to know each other. I think Grant Park is the place to meet, but I'm open to better suggestions. Please respond with what neighborhood or town you are in and what day of the week is best for you!
Sundays are best for me, but generally mornings are good. I'm in Bucktown, so the Lakefront is really close to me! I've got wheels, though, so whatever. Just happy to make connections with other barefooters. Chelsea
Sundays are good for me, but getting down to Grant Park is a long trek, then there is the added expense of parking.
I would be up for a run in August. I am on the Southside, but Grant Park is do-able. I'm trying to recover from a nagging foot injury at the moment, but I will hopefully be back up and running in the next week or so. On that note, has anybody else ever had a foot injury from barefoot running? I have been running in VFFs for about 7 months, and this is the second time I have had this problem - once on each foot now. Most recently, I was doing speed work at the track and, right after my 2nd 800 (which went really well), I had a sharp pain on the top of my foot right behind my toes. I have rested it iced it and have taken ibuprofen, but it is still hurting and a little swolen. I am seeing my doctor today. He's a runner, and he supports the idea of minimalist/barefoot running. Hopefully he can give me an idea as to what happened and what to do about it. Not running sucks. Anyway, I look forward to more barefoot running soon. Good luck to everybody. Aaron
