Unfortunately Matt is having to stand down as the CP of Alabama Chapter. We are therefore looking for another President for this Chapter. I would like to Thank Matt his hard work on behalf of BRS.

As CP you will coordinate meetups, meetings, parties, etc.,for your members both local to you and in areas where there is a high concentration of members in your state using the resources the BRSprovides for you. Of course, you do not have to attend all meetups; you can recruit others to act as contact for you.

You will also accept (or deny) membership requests into your chapter via the BRS site.

Monitor your chapter's home page and forum on the BRSsite and take part in the discussions there.

Monitor your chapter's Facebook page and take part in the discussions there.

If you are interested, please email me at

Group Admin, you may customize your chapter introduction page any way you would like.

Your chapter is a "Charter Chapter," which will be one of several serving as a test to help determine the best structures and paths for future growth. Your successes will be used to guide the formation of future chapters. Your chapter will receive support from the parent organization and its many resources. However, as an organizer of a Charter Chapter, you will have significant liberty to organize your chapter however you wish. We will encourage you to periodically arrange barefoot runner meetups/group runs at events and races in your state and encourage Barefoot Runner Divisions within those races, hold club meetings, parties, etc., but we are especially interested to see what you come up with that we haven't even thought of yet. Your creativity and energy will be literally writing the manual for the implementation of subsequent chapters across the country and internationally.
