Reviewed By: NCantrell Date Reviewed: 04/12/2011 Review Type: Race Barefoot Friendliness: 2 Above Average Location: Bentonville Square near the original Walton five and dime Main Bentonville, AR See map: Google Maps Fairly flat, small uphill right before the .3 section of the 3.3 miles. Lots of volunteers. Water at the turn around. Stroller friendly. Also, pretty kid friendly. In fact, this year's winner was 13. Not a completely closed track, although police are present. Use headphones at your own discretion. Give it an above average barefoot friendliness rating because it is usually at the end of March, or beginning of April. That's a nice 60-70 degree time of year here. Bentonville is extremely clean, and since the race follows residential streets, it is free of glass, pebbles, and other nasties. There is also a Half Marathon on the same day. The race was twice as big as last year, but still not crowded. Chip timing and lots of great swag. Tech shirts this year- much better than last year's too small cotton tees. Also family friendly for your cheerleaders. Live music along the race trail, and back on the square fun stuff for kids, including bouncy houses, and sponsored food!! Recommended!
