Yeah, the Origen looks nice. Looks like it would last forever, too. I have no experience with Bedrock. I have made lots of pairs on my own and it's dead easy. It might be worth it if funds are tight or if you enjoy making things. For my last pair I bought some laces from Luna with their molded on plug and cut a relief in the bottom of my sandals for it. It worked great. I did get a blown truck tire off the side of the Interstate to make something like the Origen, but it was so heavy that I never did anything with it. I think for that kind of sandal, you want a nearly worn out thrown retread with no steel belts in it. I've got my eye out for a motorcycle tire with nice cleats to make a pair for snow.
