After turning 61 last week I ran the Baystate 1/2 Marathon today in Lowell, MA. I ran in my Vibrum Komodosport LS's.
If anyone saw the 2 runners (me and my 46 yo sister in law) in the BRIGHT orange shirts (we got lots of compliments on the shirts) that was us finishing at 2:26. Not to bad for a couple of runners who just started 1year ago.

    Thanks for reading,

    Guy

    Mai oui! Certainment!

    Mai oui! Certainment! Vraiment cool!

As Christopher McDougall quoted somebody in Born to Run, "You don't stop running 'cause you get old. You get old 'cause you stop running!" Now that you're getting the hang of it, keep on running!

    Thanks everyone. I lost 70lbs

Thanks everyone. I lost 70lbs in the last 3 years and I'm not going back!
My wife's 2 sisters inspired me. One ran a 5k last year and I thought, "Why not me?" So I trained and ran. We past a barefoot runner about 1/4 from the finished and yelled, "Go barefoot runner!" Oh, and the other sister-in-law? Under 2 hours. The dark sheep. ;-)

    Thanks, Jonny. We talked

Thanks, Jonny. We talked about run/walk since we always walk a bit running anything over 6 miles, but this time we surprised ourselves and ran the whole way.

Before the start with my inspiration, my wife's sisters - my running pals: Speedy Dee and Kim who just wouldn't leave me behind no matter what.

I peeled off seconds before the finish to high-five my wife and nieces then re-joined Kim to cross the mat together.
