    Hello Barefooters,

I live in Sonoma, but travel frequently around the bay area (north bay mostly) and out to Sacramento/Stockton area. Does anyone have any suggestions for fun trails to run that are good for barefoot running? (limited/no fireroads)

    Happy running!

    Hi Veronica,

Welcome to the SF Chapter! I've run some trails in the Oakland/Castro Valley area - Joaquin Miller Park and Lake Chabot. Lots of great single track with not too many rocky sections. Look for the Redwood areas those are the best.

I'm working on locating good trails in the Sac area - I know they are there. Between Stockton and Sacramento there is the Cosumnes River Preserve with about 4 miles of good barefoot friendly trails. I was running out there once a week over the summer. The winter time is fun because of the mud!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll have to test them out - the mud sounds fantastic ;)
