Barefoot runner Blake Johnston runs 100km of NSW South Coast for physical challenge

It all started when surf coach Blake Johnston cut his heel while surfing in Indonesia.

Wearing shoes was too painful, so he started recovering barefoot on the treadmill.

"In winter I came back [to Australia] and said, 'I'm not going to stop, I'll give it a crack and toughen up' and I started running barefoot," he said.
