Article: Virgin Barefoot Half-Marathoner "Gets Some"!! By Jonny00GT

Well written sir. Can't wait to be at that distance. I'm getting there. Up to 8 miles a run now. I know what you mean about parts of town not wanting to part with you...I can't ever get em all the way clean in one wash.

St John - I think if you joint a running club, you'll find that once they get to know you and realize you're not a fruit cake, but there is a method to your madness, they'll have your back. Addicts tend to stick together! ;o)

Puff - Dude, have you done any speed work on a rubberized track yet? THAT makes for some black soles!! So fun though! I use the Simple Orange to try and get them clean. I actually went to get pedicures with my wife after a Friday speed work session and maaaaaan...I'm glad that chick didn't speak english cause she was NOT happy! LOL

Stay tuned for my account of the +/- 40deg and wet half marathon this Sunday! My wife's first, nice easy pace, me in bare feet and lots of people in soggy running shoes...it's gonne be awesome!! Did I mention it would be televised??

I just ran my first 6.1 mile race. http://dailyimprovisations.com/2011-boise-ymca-christmas-6-1-mile-run-surprise/ My husband/coach sneaked in some comments about maybe I'd want to do a 1/2 marathon now. It sounded scary when he said it, but he's always up there in the competitive group. Your story makes me think it is a possibility. I look forward to going totally barefoot in the spring again. I'd like to do a longer race after than transition.

Thanks, Songbird! Yeah, you can do it, nooooo problem! I did have a 15K race before my half, but nothing over 10.25miles beforethis half. Based on your 10K race, you're a lot faster than me, so just a little more mileage and proper fueling in the race, and you'll have a great time! Halfs are the most fun race I've done so far! (Write up on my 2nd one in 40deg weather, rain and chip seal: http://barefootrunners.org/forum-topic/trisa-s-first-half-wet-cold-and-barefoot-todd-what-are-you-doing-here) If I can pull that off, anyone can do it!
